The digital design studio is an experimental studio. This quarter we focued on the design of a pedestrian friendly Northgate. The studio begins with a collaborative effort with the lighting studio and with the Urban Planning studio both at the University of Washington and at the University of British Columbia.
The UW students spent a weekend at Vancouver and the UBC students also spent a weekend in Seattle during the design charette. The students worked together in groups, which were comprised of students from different backgrounds but who shared similar goals in the design of Northgate.
The charette ended with each group presenting their ideas in front of a jury. The DDS students collected all the information and produced .pdf files for the web.
